30 Day Challenge: Day 10

Day 10: Something you are afraid of. GHOSTS, GOBLINS, OH MY!! Perfect weekend for this post huh?? I am terrified of being alone in my house at night. Terrified. EVERY noise scares the crap out of me. I am scared of death. I am afraid of axe murderers, cereal killers, child molesters, rapists...I know that goes without saying, but seriously...I am always so scared I am going to encounter one of these awful people. I am deathly afraid of snakes, sharks, and alligators. Unfortunately, alligators are ALL over the SC low country. I am afraid of failing, at everything: my job, my friends, my family, my marriage.

The great boot debate.

Also known as solving life's hardest dilemmas, clearly. Anyways, I snatched up a fab pair of OTK black suede boots earlier this year during the Piperlime 30% off sale and I love them. They are comfy and can be worn OTK or below. Versatile, check. I have a pair of black suede wedge boots from last year that I love, enough height yet oh so comfy! So here lies the dilemma: NEED BROWN boots. I bought some madden girl cheapies last year and they have been fine. But, I am ready for some nicer ones now. Problem: I don't like "riding" boots and they seem the most popular right now. At 5'1", I hate wearing flat shoes...I rarely do. BUT, I don't want a HIGH HIGH heel or stilleto either. I want something that will be decently comfortable. These are a few I have found that seem like they might do the trick: 1. Jessica Simpson: love these, but don't know how comfy they will be. 2. Steve Madden wedge: hmmm...I *think* I really like these, but must try the

Awesome road trip, unfortunately the Gamecocks decided not to show.

Throw Back Thursday, our trip to Knoxville, TN last year to see the Gamecocks play the Vols. If you could figure it out from the title...we lost, BAD. Real bad. It was one of the worst games ever...it started POURING on the way to the stadium (ever been to Neyland stadium? UP HILL. In the rain, bad idea.) However, we still managed to have a rockin' time on our trip. We are used to the Gamecocks disappointing us like that...can't let your heart get too involved with Carolina. Just arrived downtown. First stop: Calhoun's on the river. Our group=) Mikey and I with the Heisman trophy! The girls tailgating. Mags and I with the super awesome COCKY!!!

30 Day Challenge: Day 7,8, and 9: Somebody STOP me!

*I have had a severe case of insomnia the past two nights....worst feeling ever, you know how when people ask "if you could change one thing about yourself what would it be." And MOST people say my hair, my nose, my figure, etc. (something vain in other words)...at this point in my life, my answer would be the ability to sleep. I have never been one of those people who can nap easily/fall asleep fast/anywhere/etc. I am always so jealous of Mikey because he can literally lay down and is asleep in two minutes flat, no fair!! I get insomnia every once in a while and it is miserable. So... now if I could change one thing about myself that would be it. SLEEP is way more important than any physical trait=) End rant. *Edited to add...I tried to get this post out on Wednesday, but was way too busy. I slept great last night, woohoo!!! Even though it still took about 30 minutes to fall asleep, I'm a much happier and rested girl today! Day 7: Favorite Movie. Well...like mo

30 Day Challenge: Day 6

Day 6: A picture of something that makes you happy. Of course....I could put up about 100 different pictures here, my husband, our wedding, our honeymoon, my amazing family, friends, the GAMECOCKS (sometimes!), you name it. BUT, I put pictures up all the time. So...if you read somewhat regularly, you know how much I love all those things mentioned above. So...I decided I was just going to put up ONE picture. A picture of my happy place. Beaufort. Yeah, i talk about it a lot too, but for good reason. I can be in Beaufort with the people I named above and it is just perfect. No matter the time of year...a weekend at our house in Beaufort is pure heaven to me. Time seems to slow down (a little bit) while we are there and I am able to truly sit back, relax and soak it all in. I love being down there surrounded by the ones that I love. It really is my happy place and no matter what, makes me smile=) From our house overlooking the creek and dock! GORGEOUS.

30 Day Challenge: Day 5

Day 5-Your siblings The one and only, my brother Matt. Matt is one of a kind in every aspect of the word. I was his punching bag (literally) for the first half of my life. I would swear that his sole purpose in life was to annoy the crap out of me. We are 4 years apart, with him being the oldest....and did he ever use that to his advantage. We weren't all that close growing up.... we probably spent more time fighting than anything. But, as many brothers and sisters do....we came around and are pretty close now. Matt could talk your ear off for hours (and he has to me several times), he can make me laugh for his crazy ways and even crazier outlooks on life, and he's good about being there when you need him. Because, lord knows....if he needs YOU....he will call 84,733 times in one hour to reach you. I would definitely say persistence is his strong suit. Probably one of my favorite things about my brother now, is to watch the man he has become. It makes me so very hap

Throwback Thursady. A fall fun fest.

Last year, this weekend was a glorious fall event. The weather was wonderful, friends were all in town, we threw a party, and participated in an ever so fun tailgating day at the Brice. Friday night, a bunch of us threw our friends Kayla and Porter a couples wedding shower/party at my house. It was the perfect time of year for some Beaufort/frogmore stew/lowcountry boil, whatever you call it. I just had to get my house all "fall"'ed up for the event. It was a great night with great friends, and most importantly, a great night celebrating Kayla and Porter. Saturday was our game against Vanderbilt, funny how that works!?! That's who we play this Saturday too! *Wish we were going to Nashville SO bad, but friends weddings come first!* I don't remember much about that game, I don't even remember if we won, shame on me! I'm sure we had a hell of a time though, because, well...we always do. Front porch decor. Little bit of fun inside. Table we were going

30 Day Challenge: Day 4

My parents are the bomb.com....simply put. I couldn't have ever in my life wished for better role models/supportive/loving/fun parents! Seriously. Not only are they amazing in the love and support they have provided me over the years, I actually like to hang out (i.e. party, not just be with them) with my parents!! My parents and their friends are FUN. Mikey and I always say we want to be just like them when we grow up! I think I am a good combination of both. I am a lot like my dad in many ways: we are both very impatient, opinionated, and passionate. Even though I am probably a "momma's" girl.... I'm the only one in the family (sorry brother!) who can sweetly talk my daddy into things, or calm him down over other things. Of course that's normal...that's what little girls are to their daddies. My dad is amazing. He would give the shirt off of his back as long as I was happy and had something I needed. That's just how he is. The most selfle

30 Day Challenge: Day 3

My First Love. My husband. 100%. Sure, I thought I was in love a couple of times before I met Mikey, but looking back? Nah...that wasn't the good stuff. That wasn't "real" true love. It might have been "love" for a 14 year old. Or even "love" for a 17 year old...but what I have now, it just doesn't even compare. Enough said. A lot skinnier and browner (sigh)...on our honeymoon last summer. Good times!

30 Day Challenge: Day Two

Day 2-Meaning behind your blog name: "SWEET CAROLINE" BY NEIL DIAMOND. Where it began, I can't begin to know when But then I know it's growing strong Oh, wasn't the spring, whooo And spring became the summer Who'd believe you'd come along Hands, touching hands, reaching out Touching me, touching you Oh, sweet Caroline Good times never seem so good I've been inclined to believe it never would And now I, I look at the night, whooo And it don't seem so lonely We fill it up with only two, oh And when I hurt Hurting runs off my shoulder How can I hurt when holding you Oh, one, touching one, reaching out Touching me, touching you Oh, sweet Caroline Good times never seem so good Oh I've been inclined to believe it never would Ohhh, sweet Caroline, good times never seem so good Whether these lyrics are appropriate or really apply to any situation involving my life, I. LOVE. THIS. SONG. I don't even know if it is just because it says my name, I re

Because I'm a copycat. And I'm boring.

I'm jumping on the "30 days of blogging bandwagon." It seems easy enough right? It will 100% give me something to talk about over the next month, a reason to blog besides just posting pictures of my weekends, ha! So....I stole this from EKM because she had it all laid out for me to steal, duh. And...just like her, I will probably just stick to weekdays. I don't like to be on the computer on weekends since I sit in front of one all day at work. So here goes.... Day 1-Introduce, recent picture, 15 interesting facts Day 2-Meaning behind your blog name Day 3-Your first love Day 4-Your parents Day 5-Your siblings Day 6-A picture of something that makes you happy Day 7-Favorite movies Day 8-A place you've traveled to Day 9-A picture of your friends Day 10-Something you're afraid of Day 11-Favorite tv shows Day 12-What you believe Day 13-Goals Day 14-A picture you love Day 15-Bible verse Day 16-Dream house Day 17-Something you're looking forward to Day 18

Throwback Thursday: Beaufort for BAMA

Last year....this coming weekend, we headed down to my family's house in Beaufort with some friends for the USC/Alabama game. Unfortunately, we didn't have the same luck as we did this year....but we still had quite the time celebrating in Beaufort. It's nice to take a little get away to Beaufort in the fall....you can just spend your days being lazy and not have to worry about getting in a bathing suit! We love spending time with our friends down there...it is always a laid back weekend with no fuss. We generally cook out both nights and hardly ever leave the house. So, even though there was no "bama beatdown" last year....the beaufort beatdown was sure fun. Okay, I know...that was corny. Forgive me? mmmkay. thanks. The girls on Friday night. The boys Friday night. *such clever picture labels, huh?* We played lots of games... I was always on the winning team... duh. Ready to watch our gamecocks!

BAMA beatdown weekend.

Last weekend was a wild one, particularly because my GAMECOCKS beat ALABAMA in an awesome game!!! Regardless, I was NON STOP busy....which is why I probably got sick this week, there is only so much my body can take! The "weekend" began Thursday night with my birthday dinner celebration with all of my favorite ladies. We went to Rosso, and it was fabulous. It was a very fun night...I am so thankful to have such wonderful friends. Friday consisted of a LONG, tiring day at work...bleh, who works on Fridays? Ha! I wish I didn't ...as I am sure everyone else does as well. Such is life. Friday night, my wonderful mother came over and helped me deep clean my house for the shower I was hosting Sunday. We scrubbed and polished for a few hours before our weekend guests arrived. By 8:30, i was dunzo....the rest of the night was spent with a good glass of wine on the couch with friends. Early to bed...we had a LONG day ahead of us Saturday. What a day it was....probably one
