Our weekend.

We had an amazing low key weekend around the Glenn casa.  Just what we needed after last weekends LATE nights and LONG days in Nashville:-)  We all slept in Saturday and enjoyed lots of play and relaxation time before we got ready and headed to a Carolina basketball game, C's first one and our first of the season.  I feel bad not being an avid basketball supporter, especially since I am for football and baseball...but I'm just not that big of a basketball fan, I try, I do...it just doesn't come easily like it does for the other two big sports.  Anyways, Carolina got a new coach and he is super fun to watch because he is CRAZY and YELLS at the players, which I think is a good thing.  Anyways...we won, which is always nice and C enjoyed the experience.  We visited the TD bank box for a little bit to see some of Mikey's co workers, she was fascinated with the little kids playing.  She was cheering along with the cheerleaders...okay, maybe not really.  But, I can hop

Our sweet angel turned 11 months old on January 17.  Can I just pretend for a minute I'm not super sad about the fact that she is about to be a ONE year old?!?  I'll save the super sappy post for next time, that may take a LONG time to write. Collins is growing by the minute, I swear she is chunkier than ever now and it is so darn cute.  Seriously, her rolls, I die.  Her little chunky thighs are the sweetest thing in the world to me.  I mean how long is it cute for a girl to have chunky thighs?!?  Yeah...not long, so I'm soaking it up while she's got them :-)  I don't know her weight or height right now, will wait on her 1 year appointment to get that information, but just by picking that booger up I know she is gaining weight! Every day she seems older and older, but really in the past few weeks she is acting more like a toddler and less like a baby.  She is finally clapping (she was a little slow on this one and had me worried, ha!) and claps ALL.THE.TIME. now

Capturing Christmas Part 6: Time with friends.

A major sign that you are getting old? Holidays don't revolve around going out every night with the "high school" group. In our case, Mikey and I both grew up in the same district, different schools...but we have lots of the same friends and a lot of us have always hung out in one big group. For years after high school...holidays meant seeing friends that you don't see that often, going out to the tipsy toad in Chapin (my hometown's one bar...okay, it has more than that now, but really the only decent one that isn't a restaurant too), etc. You get my point. Well, now that we are old as the hills and have a little babe at home...we obviously don't go out as much anymore. But, not everyone else does either...I think there were two nights this holiday season that would have been fun. Oh well...such is life. Anyways, we missed out on the big party some of our friends had because we were in NC...but on Christmas Day night we did get to relax and hang o

C bug photo dump

Just a little photo dump of some pictures of my favorite girl. I don't think I've blogged any of these before...they mostly came from Mikey's phone so I doubt it. But, who knows...the way my brain works these days anything is possible! How in the WORLD is it possible that this little munchkin is about to be ONE!?! Before bedtime.   Sometimes it's necessary to just get messy. Short and compact chubby, just like her mama. How cute is this??  Collins and her bestie Harper came to play with us one night for girls night...Harper was feeding Collins her cheerios.  It looks like C is biting Harp's hand off, but she's not...girl was just hungry! That's all I've got for today.  xoxo.

Am I crazy? Flawed?

I need some feedback here.  Or, I just need someone to tell me I am not crazy.  PRETTY PLEASE, just this once?!?  *I know...I can be, but I'm not really crazy, right? Truth is, I've been struggling with something for a while.  It all has to do with my never ending need to plan/dream/think about what's next.  Take for example...what my most recent google searches reveal??  HOUSE PLANS.  Do WHAT, you say?!?  Yeah ,that's right.  We haven't even been in our house a year and I'm already dreaming about building.  Y'ALL, WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?  Does anyone else do this?  I remember talking to one of my best friends one day, and she said " I don't make plans like you do."  It really hit home.  We were discussing her current home and how long she thought she would be there... in my mind it was a no brainer.  She couldn't possibly NOT know...I mean 2 kids and done, right?  It would be time to move on?  *Not the exact scenario, but you get my d

Nashville recap.

So, Nashville was EVERY bit as amazing as I was hoping. I'm already trying to find a time to plan another trip.  I so wish we had had more time on this one...but we made the best of it.  It was NON stop from the moment our plane touched down, but that's how I like it! We arrived around 9ish Nashville time and headed straight to our friend's house to drop our bags off and change...Mikey wouldn't even let me take the time to do something with my hair, eek. But, we were paying the taxi driver to sit outside and wait on us.  We got to the bar around 10 and it was time for the BIG surprise!  Sarah was COMPLETELY SHOCKED and super excited.  Seriously, she had NO clue.  Her sister and her husband had already gotten there earlier and surprised her but she definitely did NOT see me coming at all.  SO FUN.  We met them at the bars on Broadway in downtown Nashville.  This is where EVERY bar has a band and there are people everywhere.  TOURISTS galore.  It was PACKED, but awesom

The Friday Five: Wheels up.

The Friday Five. 5. We are going to Nashville tonight!!! 4. Ditto 3. Ditto 2. Ditto 1. No, seriously...WE ARE GOING TO NASHVILLE TONIGHT! I have never been, and although it will be a quick trip I am super excited.  My best friend since high school lives in OHIO and we do NOT get to see each other nearly enough.  Her big 3-0 was yesterday and her fabulous  husband has planned a surprise getaway for the weekend.  They are on a plane on their way right now...she just found out this morning where she was going, but she thinks it is just the two of them!!!  Another couple from OH is coming tonight, her sister and her husband are arriving this afternoon, and our flight lands at 9!  It is going to be TOO much fun.  I cannot wait to see the look on her face.  Her husband and I have a bet going that she will cry.  Especially if she has had enough liquid courage during the night, which I am sure she will.  Mikey's best friend actually lives in Nashville now and we have been mea

Capturing Christmas Part 5: Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve is steak and potatoes to me...well, and obviously a whole LOT more, but you get my drift. We have always celebrated Christmas with my mom's family on Christmas Eve. Unfortunately, this meant that we have never really been able to do the Christmas Eve service at church, we've snuck them in a few years, but for the most part there's just not enough time in the day.  Growing up, we always gathered at my grandparent's house...my granddaddy did the cooking of the steaks and we had Larry's cheese potatoes, those things were the BOMB. Over the years, as our families have grown, we now switch off having it at either my parent's house or my Uncle and Aunt's house. Well, guess what? It was my mom's turn to host this year and it just so happened that they were moving into their brand new house the week before and she wasn't ready to host...so guess who did?? Yep, that's right...me! Ha! I can't really complain though because my mo

Capturing Christmas Part 4: The Richardson Family

The Richardson family (dad's side) always gathers the Sunday before Christmas for our Christmas get together. For the past few years, it has been nothing but CHAOTIC FUN!!! There are TEN kids ages ELEVEN and under. That's a LOT going on. It was so beautiful on this day, the kids played outside, my Aunt DB even jumped on the trampoline with them...and we enjoyed the fellowship of another beautiful year together. My picture taking was SEVERELY lacking this Christmas season, and it makes me so sad.  I normally make everyone get together (on both sides of the fam) for group pictures and that didn't happen this year.  I guess that's what happens when you are busy chasing after a busy baby:-) cousins, Janie (the oldest) reading to Collins. Family pic...it cracks me up how she just WILL NOT smile sometimes.  She's just such a serious little diva sometimes. Colls clearly wasn't ready for this pictures, but the big girls look cute. Happy girl!! I need

{our weekend}

Y'all...y'all, it was 80 degrees here this weekend. WOAH. That's freakin' awesome, even though I like it to be cold when it is *supposed* to be cold, that was a nice little break. We enjoyed the heck out of it too. Mikey and I had a date night Friday night, thanks to my amazing parents. We didn't leave until 8 though...didn't want to miss out on spending QT with our little peanut if we didn't have to. Dropped her off at my parents house at 8 (which is now a mile down the road...do you hear the angels singing?!?) and headed to dinner and a movie. Zero Dark Thirty was VERY GOOD. It wasn't nearly as action packed as I thought it was going to be, I was thinking way more SEAL's face time...and this was much more into the CIA and their role in discovering intelligence to lead to the capture and KILL of UBL. However, because they obviously couldn't and/or didn't know everything, it doesn't get very detailed...so there was a part of me t
