Memorial Day 2015

The one weekend where the whole family goes to Village creek. 12 adults. 10 kids. 1 house. It's chaotic, crazy, but so, so fun. I absolutely LOVE watching all these sweet cousins make so many wonderful memories. My grandparents would be so incredibly proud of us.  We had talent shows, dance parties, lots of "mother may I" and "Simon says" in the yard, pool swimming, golf cart riding, boat and beach going, and pure FUN!! I'll let the pics speak for themselves.... But without a doubt one of my favorite traditions at Beaufort that we've started.  We are ever so thankful for the countless men and women who fight for our freedom and make this long weekend possible for us. We are forever indebted to you and in prayer for the many that lost their lives for our country, paying the ultimate sacrifice for all of us. America truly would not be who she is today without you. Thank you, to all our military.... Especially those who never came Home. You are in our const

The Friday five

1. Colls had her last day of preschool Wednesday, I'm so sad her time with these amazing teachers is done. She's grown so much this year and truly loved preschool. I don't think she understands she won't go back to this class again.  2. I'm so obsessed with my Mother's Day Present!!  With some subtle hints ;-) (which I don't mind at all... ) Mikey got me this beautiful Tiny tags necklace with all my Babies names on it. Something I will treasure forever:-) 3. Dinner rut. 90% of the time, when we cook at home... We throw a meat on the grill or in the oven and either add two veggies or a veggie and either rice or potatoes. Boring? Yes. Easy? Yes. Then we have a few go to meals: like spaghetti, Mexican night, etc. We don't want to spend lots of time in the kitchen at night... And we don't want to cook things that involve a lot of ingredients on a week night... But heavens, we are getting bored. Which leads us to eat out more... Which is bad for our walle

And then my heart exploded.....

My sweet girl had her first dance recital last weekend. She absolutely melted me. My mom and I took her to the concert Friday night to see the big girls dance and she absolutely loved it!  This was definitely one of those moments I dreamed about as soon as I heard the words "it's a girl."  She is dancing at the same studio I danced at growing up and it brings back so many wonderful memories. Whether she dances for long or not, I'm just so glad she is enjoying it for now. We definitely didn't expect much this year, she really started early and was the youngest in her class and didn't start till halfway thru the year, so we were all shocked that she actually danced on stage! I honestly thought my shy girl may just freeze up there or be one of the ones that needs holding. I think she did get scared back stage and waiting for a while, but I was so proud of how well she did for her first recital! Cutest costumes ever:-) She had a big cheering section, and we had a

Mother's Day weekend

My Mother's Day weekend was pretty darn good, but it would have been a lot better if i wouldn't have come down with a stupid head cold! This one knocked me out, so much napping! We will start the weekend with Friday graduation. My amazing grandfather was awarded an honorary doctorate from USC, pretty cool, right!? It was such a cool experience watching him get hooded, so proud:-)  Friday night was amazing. We had three other couples come over and enjoyed a long sunset cruise around the lake before hitting up a fun restaurant on the lake for dinner. It was a fun night out with friends! By the very end of Friday night I had lost my voice, boo!! I knew I was getting sick, ugh! We had some chores/errands to do Saturday before we attended a celebration for my grandfather.  I was asleep by 10 Saturday night!!  One of my Mother's Day treats was sleeping in!! It was good since I didn't feel good too. I slept till 9:30 and napped again when the boys did! Nuts!  I felt a little b

The Glenn twins: 10 months

Oh, my precious little boys!! What fun we are having with y'all.  You two make my heart so incredibly happy, it is such a privilege to be your mama!   You are both crawling all over the place now! Time to baby proof the whole house, you little boogers are fast too! Thomas, you do the typical little mechanical crawl while Graham, you got the army crawl down. The craziness level in our house went up about four notches when y'all started crawling! But, we couldn't be happier, chaos and all! You are both still sleeping great and both take two good naps a day. Y'all are both slowly trying more and more real foods and are great eaters! We are down to four bottles a day, that's the ONLY thing we are looking forward to... No more buying formula when you two turn one! We love you boys so incredibly much, happy ten months!! Xoxo,  Mama

Toddlers and sleep.

So, I wanted to document Collins’ sleeping progression so I’ll have something to look back on if the boys go through this one day.  Boring post, but MAYBE….just maybe, someone else is going through this and it will help them out!   My girl was the ABSOLUTE BEST SLEEPER in the world for the first 2.5 years of her life.  Started sleeping through the night at 7 weeks old and never looked back.  Always took two good naps a day and transitioned into one nap just fine.  At night, she would tell us she was ready to go to bed sometimes:-) We would always put her right down, give her a kiss and leave the room and she was FINE.  Would sleep till  8:30  almost every weekend.  A DREAM come true.     And then….and then something changed.  Right around the time she was 2.5 (maybe a bit before that)… we were living with my parents and she started waking up in the middle of the night SCREAMING.  This happened a few times….who knows? Night terrors?  And then…while still living with my parents we starte
