Tidbits

So my baby girl lost her very first tooth while we were in Nashville- and she suddenly looks 10- ugh. She was SO flippin’ excited though. That “Mimi” tooth fairy was extra kind;-) and noted- she didn’t even realize it was gone- we were FaceTiming her and Mikey and I noticed it- so she either swallowed it or it came out in the ball pit at a gymnastics bday party she was at that day! That’s why she wrote “I think I lost my tooth”... We spent Sunday evening cruising and tubing- not many of these days left this year.  I mean- have you ever?! Not sure why they don’t make uniforms to fit FOUR year olds- but they still look pretty cute! C’s elementary school had Grandparents day last Friday and ALL of her grandparents were there this year- lucky girl.  Happy hump day!!

Nashville recap

Well, we survived Nashville- barely;-). We left Thursday after work to drive to Nashville, we were lucky enough to get to crash at Mikey’s best friend’s house (even though he was out of town)- definitely makes the cost portion of a weekend in Nashville much more reasonable! Our purpose in going was to go to the Carolina/Vandy football game- and enjoy an adults only weekend while at it. We had TOO much fun. We ate some amazing food - Husk, The Southern, and Saltine were our tops, and danced the day away!  We spent all day Friday on Broadway and all day Saturday eating/tailgating/gaming and then out in the area near Vanderbilt. It was a good mix. Next time I go though- I’m going to a show at the Ryman- that’s def a bucket list thing for me! Until next time!

NoFlo Hurricane Weekend

Fortunately- Hurricane Florence never hit our area like they originally thought- we just had lots of rain and some light wind all day Saturday and Sunday- sadly some of our upstate and coast wasn’t so lucky- and they are still dealing with flooding issues.  We were actually able to get out and about a good bit- we enjoyed a “hurricane party” Friday afternoon/early evening- and were home by 9 and everyone asleep shortly thereafter.  We spent Saturday snuggling on the couch all morning and then ventured out to the movies - Incredibles 2 was a hit for the whole family. Saturday night we went to friends and played games while 7 kids ran wild! It was fun and chaotic, as always.  Our church was actually cancelled Sunday as we didn’t know what was coming weather wise- our whole family slept until 9:30- glorious!! We got lots of random things done around the house, played, ran errands- you know the normal “Sunday” stuff. We are supposed to be leaving for Nashville Thursday after work for the C

Weekend rewind

Ugggghhhh hurricane season isn’t starting out too kind to us here on the east coast. It looks like our beloved Lowcountry house in Beaufort will not get a direct hit but this storm is FOUR hundred miles wide (the state of South Carolina is only 200 miles wide) so our coast and (more?) is sure to be impacted no matter what. Praying for the least amount of damage possible.  We had another busy, fun weekend. Friday night- my 1999 high school cheer team was recognized at the football game for winning the first cheer state championship- whew- way to make me feel old!  Collins also got to cheer at halftime as part of the little girls cheer camp from this summer- Thomas brought home the preschool class mascot “bullseye” so we had a fun filled Friday night! Mikey and I headed out with friends to tailgate after lunch- the HOTTEST game ever- yikes. The kids had a fun play date with friends and a sitter ;-) Sunday morning was spent relaxing and cuddling in bed for a few hours having movie time.

The season has started

Welp- not even all in elementary school yet and our weeknights are quickly being taken up! Collins has dance three days a week (which is more than a normal first grader, but the norm for competitive dance teams)- but two of those days she gets out at 5 or 5:30, which I love - bc she’s finished by the time I get off work and it doesn’t affect our time together after work.  One day a week she’s there until 6:15- and of course that happens to be one of the boys soccer days- two places at same time- it’s begun! And with Mikey’s work schedule combined with some events we have on Thursdays - grandparents and babysitters will he needed! Last week the boys started “real” soccer for the first time- so stinkin’ cute. They go twice a week for 45 min- it’s about 2 ish months- so not terrible-  but of course they’ll try t ball in the spring :-) Let the busyness begin!

Lots of non laboring

Goodnes- here we are at Friday already- well I guess now is as good a time as any to recap our Labor Day weekend. We’ve been spending memorial and Labor Day weekend holidays in Beaufort for the past 12 ish years- I do love college football, but for our Labor Day games I’m totally fine pretending they aren’t starting yet and listening from the boat 😝 We will still prob enjoy a few more times on the lake before it gets cooler, but this is our last official “Lowcountry” trio of summer. We sure enjoyed it- as always- there was lots of relaxing, pool swimming, boat riding, bike riding, golf cart adventures, sandbar walking, good times with family. We also took our seventh annual family photos at the dock beside Dockside restaurant- always treasure those photos 💙💗
