Weekend rewind

After 60% of us got taken down by the stomach bug last week- we finally got better and headed to our beloved village creek on Friday afternoon. Mikey was running the P200, a relay race from Columbia to Charleston and started Friday morning and would finish Saturday in Charleston. So it was just my parents, the kids, and me Friday night. I hadn’t been to Beaufort in so long- it’s def my place to escape/relax and recharge!  We all headed to Charleston Saturday to pick Mikey up from his run and ended up spending the day exploring around downtown Charleston- something we haven’t done in a while. It was super breezy but beautiful.  We dyed Easter eggs Sunday and spent a few more hours soaking up doing “nothing” before heading back home- such a good family weekend!

Easter baskets

I cannot believe Easter is NEXT weekend. Granted, it’s early this year- but still. Hopefully our weather will cooperate and start to warm up and STAY warm- we’ve had a couple 35 degree mornings this week which is not the norm around here.  Figured I’d post about what I plan to put in the kids Easter baskets this year- I’m not one to go all out and have a mini Christmas morning for Easter- goodness, it’s crazy to me the amount of STUFF some parents do for Easter- but, each to their own.... We have these baskets from pottery barn with gingham liners. We have the small ones- but I do think I may get the bigger size next year. The small ones are pretty small.  All three of mine will be getting a new Easter book:  Collins’ will probably have the following- another book, a new bathing suit, slime, and a JoJo key chain- she got one for her bday and it broke so she’ll be super pumped:-) And then the boys will each get the same: another book, slime, a bathing suit, and then their other item is

We are in total get shit done mode around our house. This is kinda how we tend to do.... work a lot around the house on projects for a few months and then stop- recharge- and start again. Everything in phases.  Like I’ve mentioned, we bought an old house- we renovated a lot of the inside, but there’s still a LOT to do inside and out.... we didn’t even touch outside. Yard work- painting the exterior of the house- pressure washing- maybe tearing down and building a new deck—— like I said, so much to do! My dad and Mikey finished the kitchen backsplash this weekend and I love it. I’ll have to take some pictures soon for a full post of before and after. I painted all of the trim in C’s room and we finally got her some new white wood blinds (the kids rooms had brown blinds- yuck.... ).  It’s amazing the difference fresh white trim and white window coverings make in a room! If I could just win the lottery and have alllll of my list done at once- we can only dream right?! We attended the Har

We had plans to CHILL this weekend- but sometimes life tells you otherwise.  We did chill Friday night- went to dinner and then enjoyed a little family movie night. Saturday was full of chores and a bday party.  Until we found out our Nashville besties had decided to come to columbia for the Cole Swindell concert- (mikeys best friends works for zac brown band and his wife works for the company that manages luke Bryan and Cole Swindell- he always travels with ZBB but she only does occasionally. Well they decided last minute to come since this is his hometown and he had a break in his travel schedule....)  and when they invite you to a concert - you go. We spent the evening hanging out with all the artists backstage and having a complete VIP experience for the show- it was fun to get a teeny glimpse into their everyday lives. And of course it’s always fun to hang out wth friends we don’t get to see often! My dad and mikey (finally!!) started our backsplash Sunday- woohoo!! The kids and

Gracious- we got back last night from an incredible 4 nights in Exuma, Bahamas. 9 couples- my college besties and our spouses rented an amazing house on the beach with a pool and hot tub  - it didn’t feel like real life... I haven’t been a ton of places but this was the most gorgeous water I’ve ever seen. We spent our days bouncing between the sun deck at our house and this unbelievable slice of paradise a short walk down the road... a “cut” behind the front row ocean where the water was even more turquoise and at low tide there were sandbars and a lazy river- I’m telling y’all it was incredible. We ventured by boat to the chat n chill one day which was the cutest island beach bar... we didn’t want to leave! We spent our nights in the hot tub and had waaaaay too much fun! Definitely a trip I will always remember.
