Friday Five.

Friday already? I'm not going to complain, but goodness...this week FLEW by. Just like that we are preparing for a SPOOKTACULAR weekend...muahahahahha!

Seriously though. We have lots of Halloweenery on the agenda.

1. Can we talk about decorating for Halloween?? Do you do it?  I guess because I didn't grow up in a neighborhood my mom never really felt the need/got into decorating for Halloween.  Sure, we carved our pumpkins and such...but our "decorating" was more FALL oriented.  NOT ghosts and goblins, oh my!  Well...let's just say our house is OUT of the loop in our neighborhood.  It seems as if almost EVERYONE decorates for HALLOWEEN.  And when I say decorate, I mean...orange lights, scary cats, ghosts, hands sticking up out of the yard, spider webs...you get the picture.  Like, FULL out spooky shit.  My little pumpkins, mums, and hay just seem a little too "sweet" for the big night.  Our neighborhood is LOADED with kids though, and I think a LOT of people from our area come to our hood to get their treat on..so I get it, it just took me by surprise.  (and no, this house below is thankfully NOT from our hood...)
2.  New Fall shows.  So, are y'all as obsessed with Nashville as I am?  I L-O-V-E me some Tami Taylor and was dying to watch this show.  There are so many interesting story lines and twists that have been revealed, I really dig it.  And that Hayden is a total BIATCH, but lordy her body is a rockin.'
We also seriously love this show. Seriously.
3. Speaking of Halloween, we are going to Riverbanks Zoo's BOO AT THE ZOO Sunday night with some friends.  Kinda like I mentioned in my post on the pumpkin patch, I'm sure this is something I am looking forward to more than necessary considering I am taking an EIGHT month old..but she did love the lights at the fair so I am hoping this will be as visually stimulating for her;-)
4.  Did I mention we were busy this weekend??  YIKES.  Supper Club Halloween party tonight, noon CAROLINA football game tomorrow, Halloween party at my bro and SIL's tomorrow night (w. the kiddos...there will be hay rides and games!), joining our new church Sunday morning, a birthday party at 2 and then Boo at the Zoo Sunday night.  I think I need a nap just reading all of that.  But, that's how I like it.  Busy as a bee.  Most of the time anyways...I can do this knowing we don't have much on the calendar next weekend so I'll be able to get in some much needed R and R.

5.  I'm kind of in a denial that I'll need to start thinking about Christmas lists soon. I'm not really a last minutes shopper but in no means  am I an early shopper.  But, this being my first year buying for a wee little one...I feel like I need to get organized and start early.  Eeek.  I can promise you this though right now...I absolutely will NOT be going overboard for Collins.  I think it is totally absurd how much some people spend on babies at Christmas.  Santa was always a big deal at my house and we got a lot, but for a 10 month old?  Totally NOT necessary.  It's just not worth it when they are so young.  Save the money for when they really know better;-)

xoxo.

2019 family Village Creek trip

Our 2019 summer family vacation was everything I could have asked for, and more!  This year, my parents and nephew joined us for the week so we had extra fun!  (and extra chaos of course, too!)  We did ALL the things, but yet also did ALL the relaxing.  We arrived on G and T's actual, bday so we started our trip with a special birthday lunch in downtown Beaufort with just the boys since Collins rode down with my mom.  We also finally experienced the drive in movie that night for Toy Story 4 and it was AWESOME!  We only had one day of cloudy weather so that was awesome!  We ventured to Bohicket Marina, Harbor Town, Harbor Island, Edisto Island, Botany Bay, our favorite sandbar AND downtown Beaufort by boat, we had a ball!   My dad got some AMAZING fireworks and we had a little show for the culdesac, so much fun!!  Mikey and I even got to sneak out one night for a date night, headed to our fav, Sal

My Pinterest inspired master bedroom makeover part one.

The BEFORE pictures. I've been itching to re-do my master bedroom for quite some time now. I am one of those people that likes to re decorate quite often...unfortunately for my bank account. Mikey's mom bought him a full queen sized bedroom suite when he graduated college, which was wonderful. It is very nice furniture and has served us well. But, I am SOOO sick of all the dark matchy-matchy look it brings. I will use this furniture again in a guest bedroom one day...but for now, it's time to retire it from my master. All of my bedding and rug I had previously...I've now had this zebra/brown/green theme for almost 4 years...so over it! Fortunately for us...my brother and SIL got a new bed...so what do we get?? Their old KING size bed!! Woohoo. I do NOT like for people to touch me when I sleep, I need my space...I've been wanting a king for so long. Even though our room isn't the biggest the king is working out okay...we aren't going to be in this h

These are the days.

Goodness gracious, I LOVE summer.  I talk it to death every year, but it is especially important to me during this season of life where the school year brings homework/schedules/strict bed times/extra curricular craziness- I appreciate the LAZY days of summer EVEN MORE. I've tried to be intentional about taking a half day here and there to soak up TIME with my babies.  Because Lord knows, they aren't babies for long.  (Yes, I'm referring to my 7 and 5 year olds as babies- #cantstopwontstop ) When we returned from our anniversary trip, we got back early on a Tuesday and used the rest of the day to spend quality family time together.  We took the kids to a local water park, this was all of our first time visiting- and we had a ball!   That same week, my girl and I dressed up and attended her very first company banquet for dance, too much fun!  Lake days with friends are sooooo good for me- we've so enjoyed many of them this summer
