Our first two weeks.

How does time go by SO fast?? Our beautiful girl was TWO weeks old on Friday! So far, Collins has been a wonderful baby...I am scared to say it because I am scared to "jinx" ourselves, but she really has been so good so far. She hardly ever cries and is pretty easy going. The first two weeks, she would sleep for at least 5 hours straight at night...she will fight her swaddle a little bit and every once in a while I will have to get her situated but otherwise she has been a dream sleeper. Makes mama so happy!

Our days FLY by...it's so hard to explain to people who haven't done it before, but seriously, where does the day go?!? Obviously breastfeeding is very time consuming, and that takes up a big chunk of our days...so between that, changing diapers (ALL. THE. TIME.), getting myself showered, and keeping the house neat...before I know it the day is almost gone. I don't really like that part, but such is life right now! It's hard to plan far out at this point because right now, her schedule for the day really depends on how long she sleeps at night. I haven't been tired once, simply because right now I can sleep late:) I am hoping to have her on a "tighter" schedule by the time I go back to work...but for now we are just taking it day by day.

There was such a huge difference in her first week and second as far as how I felt. By the second week, I was MUCH less worried about her every move, and was ready to start getting out and about. In fact, Mikey and I had our first date night on her two week birthday. YAY us! My favorite time with her is snuggling on the couch togehter, she loves to lay on her side so I will snuggle with her right beside me and just watch her in awe. I know my maternity leave is going to fly by, so I am really trying not to jam it packed full during the week....weekends are fine to be busy but I am enjoying having no schedule/agenda during the day so I can truly enjoy this time with my favorite girl.

We went to the doctor on her two week birthday and she was weighin in at 6 lb 11oz, so only 1 oz away from her birth weight, yay! She had also grown a half inch:) Breastfeeding is going really well, and I am thankful for that. At this time, I don't really know how long I am going to do it, it really depends on how it goes when I go back to work...but I hope to breastfeed for at least 6 months, so I hope that pumping at work will be good with her! Okay, enough rambling...time for some pictures! Out of order of course.

Getting some loving from my cousin Belle.

I attended my FIRST GAMECOCK baseball game on Saturday March 3, GO COCKS!!! We beat the Clemson Tigers:) Collins slept thru the whole game with the exception of when I took her to the family restroom to nurse. She was a perfect angel. We kept her bundled up in her car seat with a blanket and draped Mikey's rain jacket over her for added protection from the cold. It wasn't too cold until the end of the game...I started getting a little worried but when we got home and I went to change her, her little body was so warm so I think she was just fine!

Go cocks!

Mommy and Daddy leaving to go on date night! Thanks so much to Lolly and Granddaddy.

Love this picture...so sweet.

My first playdate with my best friends Mary Brooks and Harper! Mary Brooks (far left) was born on 2.12 and Harper (middle) was born on 12.29, their mama's are my best friends, so fun to have little girls so close together.

I'm trying to get better about posting more because I know I will appreciate this one day...but our home computer is not the fastest and I prefer to blog from my computer instead of the Ipad. Again....I need a few more hours in the day! Off to watch the Moms on Call seminar for what to do now:)

Loves!

2019 family Village Creek trip

Our 2019 summer family vacation was everything I could have asked for, and more!  This year, my parents and nephew joined us for the week so we had extra fun!  (and extra chaos of course, too!)  We did ALL the things, but yet also did ALL the relaxing.  We arrived on G and T's actual, bday so we started our trip with a special birthday lunch in downtown Beaufort with just the boys since Collins rode down with my mom.  We also finally experienced the drive in movie that night for Toy Story 4 and it was AWESOME!  We only had one day of cloudy weather so that was awesome!  We ventured to Bohicket Marina, Harbor Town, Harbor Island, Edisto Island, Botany Bay, our favorite sandbar AND downtown Beaufort by boat, we had a ball!   My dad got some AMAZING fireworks and we had a little show for the culdesac, so much fun!!  Mikey and I even got to sneak out one night for a date night, headed to our fav, Sal

My Pinterest inspired master bedroom makeover part one.

The BEFORE pictures. I've been itching to re-do my master bedroom for quite some time now. I am one of those people that likes to re decorate quite often...unfortunately for my bank account. Mikey's mom bought him a full queen sized bedroom suite when he graduated college, which was wonderful. It is very nice furniture and has served us well. But, I am SOOO sick of all the dark matchy-matchy look it brings. I will use this furniture again in a guest bedroom one day...but for now, it's time to retire it from my master. All of my bedding and rug I had previously...I've now had this zebra/brown/green theme for almost 4 years...so over it! Fortunately for us...my brother and SIL got a new bed...so what do we get?? Their old KING size bed!! Woohoo. I do NOT like for people to touch me when I sleep, I need my space...I've been wanting a king for so long. Even though our room isn't the biggest the king is working out okay...we aren't going to be in this h

These are the days.

Goodness gracious, I LOVE summer.  I talk it to death every year, but it is especially important to me during this season of life where the school year brings homework/schedules/strict bed times/extra curricular craziness- I appreciate the LAZY days of summer EVEN MORE. I've tried to be intentional about taking a half day here and there to soak up TIME with my babies.  Because Lord knows, they aren't babies for long.  (Yes, I'm referring to my 7 and 5 year olds as babies- #cantstopwontstop ) When we returned from our anniversary trip, we got back early on a Tuesday and used the rest of the day to spend quality family time together.  We took the kids to a local water park, this was all of our first time visiting- and we had a ball!   That same week, my girl and I dressed up and attended her very first company banquet for dance, too much fun!  Lake days with friends are sooooo good for me- we've so enjoyed many of them this summer
