21 months.

WHERE oh WHERE does the time go?  I can’t even wrap my head around the fact that I’ve got to be thinking about planning a SECOND birthday party for my girl soon.  Major sads.  My girl has been FULL of herself lately and growing up right before my very eyes.  She is talking up a storm now a days… (I knew it would come…and it is so cute).  My newest favorite that she says is “love you” but of course it sounds like lu you…melt my heart.  Collins gives the BEST kisses these days and is still a mama’s girl through and through.  She’s been more obsessed with Mikey lately and always asks for him in the mornings…but when it comes down to it, she wants her mama.  I mean, who can blame her?  ;-)  (Kidding, husband.)  She’s pretty much your typical “almost two year old.”  HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY one second and crying the next.  Thankfully the tears never last long and we can generally figure out a way to redirect her attention if she’s upset about something.  She does hit sometimes and it drives me batty.  So I put her in timeout and she laughs.  And I SWEAR I am SO stern with her when I do this…and she still laughs.  Not sure how to handle that one.

Collins still LOVES to be outside and LOVES to dance.  The minute she hears a song that’s catchy/fast she starts wiggling her hips and moving her body side to side.  It is the cutest thing I have ever witnessed (sorry for the biased mama moment).  Collins is pretty independent and can be stubborn, is it because she is almost 2 or because that’s how she really is? Only time will tell….  She knows what she wants and doesn’t though that’s for sure.

No clue about her weight and height right now and we don’t go back to the doctor until she turns TWO, what THE what?!?  She mostly wears 18 mo clothes…I’m slowly starting to buy 24 mo to last her thru February/March.  I do know she is a chunk.  And short.  So there’s that.  And she has TINY feet…like we just moved onto size 4 (for reference some of her friends are already in 6 and 7).  She still doesn’t have all of her teeth…but she does have lots of hair!  It is growing so fast!  I kinda need to start thinking about how to “do” her hair…something besides just clipping a bow in it.  It looks scraggly in the back sometimes…she will have a curled piece, then straight, a curl, then straight…so who knows how we will handle that!

She still naps TWICE a day, crazy, right?  But, it works.  On weekends, most of the time she only gets one…but a lot of times she still likes that morning nap…even if it’s only 45 minutes.  She sleeps from about 8 or 8:30 to 7:30 or 8 in the mornings.  And her eating? Picky as ever.  One night she will eat something and two nights later, not touch it.  Sigh. Such the life of a toddlerJ

We feel so incredibly blessed to have little C bug in our life, I cannot imagine our life without her.  Collins, you make mama and daddy’s day, EVERY day.  We love you to the moon and back.

Xoxo

  1. Collins is SO cute! We have the same issue with timeouts- I am serious and Tanner thinks it's just hilarious which is really frustrating.

2019 family Village Creek trip

Our 2019 summer family vacation was everything I could have asked for, and more!  This year, my parents and nephew joined us for the week so we had extra fun!  (and extra chaos of course, too!)  We did ALL the things, but yet also did ALL the relaxing.  We arrived on G and T's actual, bday so we started our trip with a special birthday lunch in downtown Beaufort with just the boys since Collins rode down with my mom.  We also finally experienced the drive in movie that night for Toy Story 4 and it was AWESOME!  We only had one day of cloudy weather so that was awesome!  We ventured to Bohicket Marina, Harbor Town, Harbor Island, Edisto Island, Botany Bay, our favorite sandbar AND downtown Beaufort by boat, we had a ball!   My dad got some AMAZING fireworks and we had a little show for the culdesac, so much fun!!  Mikey and I even got to sneak out one night for a date night, headed to our fav, Sal

My Pinterest inspired master bedroom makeover part one.

The BEFORE pictures. I've been itching to re-do my master bedroom for quite some time now. I am one of those people that likes to re decorate quite often...unfortunately for my bank account. Mikey's mom bought him a full queen sized bedroom suite when he graduated college, which was wonderful. It is very nice furniture and has served us well. But, I am SOOO sick of all the dark matchy-matchy look it brings. I will use this furniture again in a guest bedroom one day...but for now, it's time to retire it from my master. All of my bedding and rug I had previously...I've now had this zebra/brown/green theme for almost 4 years...so over it! Fortunately for us...my brother and SIL got a new bed...so what do we get?? Their old KING size bed!! Woohoo. I do NOT like for people to touch me when I sleep, I need my space...I've been wanting a king for so long. Even though our room isn't the biggest the king is working out okay...we aren't going to be in this h

These are the days.

Goodness gracious, I LOVE summer.  I talk it to death every year, but it is especially important to me during this season of life where the school year brings homework/schedules/strict bed times/extra curricular craziness- I appreciate the LAZY days of summer EVEN MORE. I've tried to be intentional about taking a half day here and there to soak up TIME with my babies.  Because Lord knows, they aren't babies for long.  (Yes, I'm referring to my 7 and 5 year olds as babies- #cantstopwontstop ) When we returned from our anniversary trip, we got back early on a Tuesday and used the rest of the day to spend quality family time together.  We took the kids to a local water park, this was all of our first time visiting- and we had a ball!   That same week, my girl and I dressed up and attended her very first company banquet for dance, too much fun!  Lake days with friends are sooooo good for me- we've so enjoyed many of them this summer
